The Staten Island USBC Association was officially launched August 1, 2005 as recognized by the United States Bowling Congress. This organization was formed as a result of a merger of the Staten Island Women's Bowling Association, Staten Island Young American Bowling Alliance, and the Staten Island members of the New York Bowling Association.
The Staten Island USBC Association currently services 3,000 USBC members in Staten Island and two bowling centers (Rab's Country Lanes and Showplace Entertainment Center).
The United States Bowling Congress officially launched January 1, 2005, as the organization to serve amateur adult and youth bowlers in the United States. It resulted from the merger of the American Bowling Congress, Women's International Bowling Congress, Young American Bowling Alliance, and USA Bowling. Today, USBC serves more than 2.6 million members.
USBC is the National Governing Body for bowling as recognized by the United States Olympic Committee.
