Daniel Moffit
Daniel H. Moffit’s involvement in organized bowling grew from his longtime leadership of the Exceptional Children’s Social Club, known as the Colonial Pals. Dan has been associated with the organization for more than four decades, including decades of service as President and Chairman of its Board of Directors. The Colonial Pals maintained continuous USBC-sanctioned bowling operations through the closure of both Colonial Lanes and Bowling on the Green. Through the Colonial Pals, Dan became involved with the former Staten Island YABA shortly before the merger of Staten Island’s Men’s, Women’s and Youth bowling organizations. He played an integral role in the reorganization and merger process that created the Staten Island USBC Association. Following the merger, Dan was elected to the new association’s Board of Directors and became its first President. He later returned to association leadership as Vice President and, more recently, again as President. Outside bowling, Dan retired from the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey in 2003 following a 37-year career, serving at retirement as Manager of E-ZPass Customer Services. He later became active with XCEL Federal Credit Union, joining its Board of Directors and serving as Board Chairman. His sustained leadership in bowling, particularly his role in the formation and early direction of the Staten Island USBC, earned him induction into the Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service in 2015.
