Fran Pedreira

Fran Pedreira was one of Staten Island’s most accomplished and enduring women bowlers, establishing herself as a championship performer through decades of league and tournament competition.

A familiar name among the Island’s top women bowlers from the 1950s through the 1980s, Pedreira consistently carried averages in the 170s and 180s and regularly ranked among the area’s leading competitors.

Pedreira was especially successful in the Staten Island Women’s Bowling Association Championship Tournament, capturing nine titles during her career.  Among her greatest achievements were back-to-back All-Events championships in 1969 and 1970, firmly establishing her among the premier tournament bowlers of her era.

Her success extended beyond the association championships, including a Staten Island Women’s 600 Club Net Championship, while her commitment to bowling went beyond competition through service as a member of the SIWBA and Staten Island Women's 600 Club Board of Directors.
