Lucy Donnantuono

Lucy Donnantuono established herself as one of Staten Island's premier women bowlers from an early age, beginning as a standout junior before developing into an accomplished collegiate and adult competitor.

Her success followed her well beyond the junior ranks. Lucy competed at the collegiate level and quickly became a force in women's bowling, regularly maintaining averages in the 190s during an era when that placed her among the area's elite competitors. Her talent also carried her beyond Staten Island, including national competition where she finished 10th among the nation's best at the 1981 WIBC Queens Tournament.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Lucy remained a familiar name atop local league and tournament standings. After stepping away from the game for a period, she returned to competitive bowling and once again established herself among Staten Island's best. A 1991 Staten Island Advance feature chronicled her return to the lanes, another chapter in a career defined by both excellence and longevity.

The years immediately preceding her Hall of Fame induction provided another remarkable run. Seventeen years after capturing her first SIWBA All-Events championship, Lucy returned to the top to claim the 1997 All-Events title.

In 1998, Lucy entered the SIWBA Women's Championship as the defending All-Events champion and continued to add to her résumé, firing a 749 series to capture both the Singles Net and Singles Gross championships. The Advance described her that year as an exceptionally steady competitor whose smooth approach and even temperament had become trademarks of her game.  She was inducted into the Staten Island WBA Hall of Fame later that same year.

From junior standout to collegiate bowler and ultimately one of Staten Island's leading women's competitors, Lucy built a career marked by championships, high scores and sustained success across multiple decades.
