The 2019 Staten Island USBC Clash of Champions kicked off the 71st Annual Women’s & 14th Annual Men’s Championship Tournament at Rab’s Country Lanes on Saturday February 16, 2019.
Youth and Adult All Events Champions from the 2018-2019 season were invited to compete in the Annual Clash of Champions.On the line: The title, the Chuck Curiazza Memorial Trophy, a $250 prize, scholarship awarded to youth, and of course bragging rights.
The field*: Youth Champions Ricky Longo, Giselle Rau, and Jason Wichnovitz and Adult Champions Dan Dunleavy, Sean McAuliffe, and Lillian Rivera.
* Youth Champions Victoria Hollywood and Peter Convery along with Adult Champion Melissa Kammerer were unable to compete in the event.

Round 1: scratch (handicap) score included
In a nail-biter match that came down to the final tenth frame, Giselle Rau 236 (309) defeated Ricky Longo 243 (305) and Jason Wichnovitz 182 (209).
Sean McAuliffe 244 (248) defeated Lillian Rivera 178 (236) and Dan Dunleavy 192 (206).
Winner of each match advanced to the title match, to feature the youth vs. adult match.
In the finale, Giselle rolled a 162 (235) game to beat out Sean 213 (217). Sean started off strong with the front 4 strikes, needing to beat Giselle by 69 pins scratch to earn the title.
